Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.

Ezekiel 37:13 (NIV)

As I was reading through Ezekiel today I read about the dry bones and I felt something move in my spirit. I had a sense that there was something the Lord was bringing to my attention but I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. I continued and finished my reading for the day but I kept thinking about those dry bones. My brothers and sisters, we who have been saved by our faith in Jesus Christ were once like those bones. We were animated and walked about as spirits without the breath of God and one day, He breathed life into us and we were born again. We were new creations with stellar futures ahead of us in the Lord. However, as we’ve walked with Him some of us have become weary. We look at the world around us and though we hate to admit it, it doesn’t look like how we thought it would look.

I want to encourage you today, as the Lord is encouraging me, to stay the course and trust in Him. He has been reminding me and letting me see everything that He’s done in my life and how He brought me from the brink of destruction to the fullness and joy that overwhelms me. I know some of your stories. I’ve read your blogs and although I may not have commented on your tales. I have read them and I know where He has brought you from. I know you struggle, sometimes feeling like you’re drowning, and you wonder if He’s still with you. Oh, this isn’t something that you’d admit but those thoughts, like winds whispering through dark caves, have sifted through you making you feel like those dry bones once again.

The Lord is telling me that He’s doing a new thing in us. He’s telling me to remember the simple things that are, the difficult things that were, and then to look upon these things with His eyes. He’s reminding me that those things that were once difficult are now the simple things in my life and that those difficult things were mountains that have been overcome. He’s telling me to not be afraid of what He’s doing now. That I’m walking through the shadow of the valley of death and not to be afraid of shadows for they cannot hurt me. He’s telling me to stop fretting. He’ll never leave nor forsake me. He’s with me always. I’m forgiven. His hand guides me. He is my shield and my reward. He is love. He is mercy. He is my Father. The battle is His. To wait on Him. He loves me. He has done it. He never stops working. The victory is mine. To never forget…

So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

John 16:22 (NIV)

Do you know God? God knows you and He loves you. He sees you as significant because you are. No one is insignificant to Him. He’s with you today, right now, and He wants you to know Him. Jesus died for your sins and mine so that we could be free of guilt, be freed from death, and live eternally with Him. Eternal salvation is just a prayer away.

Pray this prayer with me to accept the gift of salvation today:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
