God is big. Really big. He’s bigger than all of space and time put together. He’s so immeasurably awesome that this universe cannot contain him. Yet, despite the vast power and size of God, we often forget that he’s so big. We forget that God can do anything. Sure, we might talk about it and praise Him. Telling Him how awesome he is, but do we really believe it? Do we really believe that God can do anything?
Read this verse from Ephesians.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

I don’t know about you, but I have a huge imagination. When I was a kid, I could make up stories on the spot. Create characters with histories I had never considered. I used to dream about what I would become one day. As I got older, I strove to make those dreams a reality. As one dream after another fell by the wayside, I still pushed on until my “dreams” became more ordinary.
There was one dream I had that I held onto over the years before I was saved. I dreamed of happiness. I dreamed of being settled in myself and my life, no longer feeling the stark depression I had known since I was a child. When I was saved, I saw that dream become a reality.
Sometimes the things we aspire to can’t be put into a box or expressed in words. Sometimes they are a nagging feeling that tugs on the edge of our mind with a whisper. A whisper that says, “More…” Not the more of the eyes that will never be satisfied. This “more” is a yearning for the “more” God has for us. It’s that “immeasurably more” we read of in Ephesians 3:20. This “more” can only be obtained through the power at work within us. The Holy Spirit.
Paul writes about this power in Ephesians 1:19-20.
His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in all who believe.
That’s a staggering thing to imagine, isn’t it?
For some of us, that’s all it is. Something we have to think about and imagine. Why is that? For me, I know I’m saved. I am not the same person I used to be. The person I am today is unrecognizable from the man I used to be, and it wasn’t me who did that. It was God and the Holy Spirit living inside me.
As much as I don’t like clichés, I will use one here. I think we don’t see the immeasurable power of the Holy Spirit in us because we’ve measured it. We’ve confined God and his power to the limits of our minds and our belief in him. We’ve put God into a box. By measuring God and putting his power into a box, we’re no longer thinking of those amazing things God has for us. We limit ourselves to our daily bread.
If you’re longing for that “more” in your life, then I encourage you to take a step of faith and believe. Open the box you’ve put God into and just believe!
Do you know God? God knows you, and he loves you. He sees you as significant because you are. No one is insignificant to Him. He’s with you today, and he wants you to know him. Jesus died for your sins and mine so we could be free of guilt, be free from death, and live eternally with him. Eternal salvation is just a prayer away.
Pray this prayer with me to accept the gift of salvation today:
Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins. I repent from my ways. Wash me in your blood and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and on the third day, God the Father raised you from the dead. Right now, Lord Jesus, I open the door to my heart, and I receive you into my heart as my Lord and personal Savior. Amen.

Great thoughts to contemplate, Jason! I would suggest that the same power that raised Christ from the dead was required to raise us from death (in our sins and iniquities) to life (in Christ). Scripture says that we were raised with Christ, so that fits also. I believe God does every single thing that is good in His perfect will, miraculous or otherwise, but even if I never witness any miracles in this life apart from my own salvation and that of others, as exhibited in changes lives, those are indeed miracles of staggering power and significance!
