I have some thoughts on Hebrews 10:10 that I’d like to share with you today.

And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:10 (NIV)

When Jesus was glorified, he was the only person to have obeyed the law. Otherwise, he couldn’t have been without sin. Thus, Jesus fulfilled the law.

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Romans 10:4 (NIV)

Whenever the religious leaders claimed Jesus was breaking the law, they were referring to the law that they had established. Additionally, they also revealed their ignorance of God’s will.

Therefore, Jesus. Being without sin was holy and pure and able to offer himself as a sacrifice for the world’s sins. So, when we follow Jesus in faith, we’re following the only person to have fully obeyed the law, and thus we meet the requirements of the law. Not through our works but through faith in Christ. We are justified by faith. We don’t have to follow the law because Christ did it for us.
