He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (emphasis added).
2 Timothy 1:9 (NIV)
Nobody gets into heaven because of the things they’ve done. This is quite the opposite of the way it is on Earth. From clubs to colleges, jobs, and the like, on Earth, you often have to be somebody to receive anything special. Yet, you can’t get to heaven because you’re famous. You can’t get to heaven because of who your parents are or where you went to school. You can’t get into heaven because of who you know. Unless you know Jesus in the pardon of your sins. So don’t be surprised if you get to heaven and find that many of the “somebodies” on Earth aren’t there.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be a “nobody” on Earth than a “somebody” in hell.
Do you know God? God knows you, and he loves you. He sees you as significant because you are. No one is insignificant to Him. He’s with you today, and he wants you to know him. Jesus died for your sins and mine so we could be free of guilt, freed from death, and live eternally with him. Eternal salvation is just a prayer away.
Pray this prayer with me to accept the gift of salvation:
Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins. I repent from my ways. Wash me in your blood and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and on the third day, God the Father raised you from the dead. Right now, Lord Jesus, I open the door to my heart and receive you into my heart as my Lord and personal Savior. Amen.
