There’s a boldness
to the pen, each
sultry stroke,
imagining creation
wings, up
and away,
carrying bold
minds, nearer
the brink-
etching crystal
canvas, des mots
they flow.

Bound

Locked in
his cage, upon
crooked limbs,
the songbird
sees no bars.

Singing of
life, beneath
shimmering stars.

Floating, heavenly
breezes-
carried away,
by dreams.

Pikes Peak

Eyes closed,
listening; snow
falling, angel
kisses brushing
rosy cheeks,
firmaments frothy
burst forth,
exhaling-
flakes dancing
aerially, winter’s
ballet.

Blue skies
open wide
to receive
petitions-
Heaven bound
possibility,
endless, free-
Truth in
the blue,
painted orange,
ruby, magenta-
hopes rise
into ebony
skies; stars
confirm,
through winks
and blinks-
We are not
alone. Dawn
breaking, singing
glory, hope
filled clouds,
silver streaks
carry dreamers-
Icarus delights,
Distant roar-
onward. Trees
wave, “Remember
us!” Babel
below teems,
pursuing unseen
dreams. Only
the wild
things know-
freedom.
