Dissolving
footsteps
brush,
covered snow.
graffiti
greetings,
dogs
barking-
passing
lonely
corridors,
tin roofs,
homeward
bound.
Soapy water,
excited fur ball.
The heat,
Santa Barbara summer,
child’s laughter,
his father,
together-
washing the dog.
Reminds me,
of my own father.
Our dog,
long passed,
remembered.
A neighborly wave,
a rare sight,
now-a-days.
A welcome sight.
Smile on my face,
I wave back.
The smile,
wearing memories,
the man,
the boy,
the dog,
and,
a friendly wave.
