Window Pane

There’s a bird outside my window,
hummingbird like-
it darts from tree
to tree.

It’s wood stained breast,
pale, in the afternoon light.
Boldly outlined, in a black shimmering cloak.
The dark beak
pointing the way.

I hear the song,
I understand-
but the words,
they elude me.

One tree
decorated, in frosted flowers.
This tree,
it avoids.
Always looking-
peering,
intently.
Steering clear.

I see this bird,
realize,
We,
are
the same.

Cast forth,
stabbing,
shredding,
slicing-
soul
bound.

Mindless
reaction-
splitting
into
you.

Slashing,
run!
Hide-
Stop me-
Unfettered-
twirling
blades.

Blows
reign,
on you,
on me-
Raging.

The horror,
seeps,
out.

Remorse,
for the dead.

Spice

Dancing,
singing,
I am.
My love,
loves me.

Oh glory!
The world,
full of color again.
The muted silence,
alive with life.

Sliding down the rainbow,
I am.
From the crest of the comet,
I see.

I breathe in joy,
exhaling-
laughter,
love,
life.
This taste,
I adore it so.

Spice of life,
“They” say,
and this once,
“They”
are right.

Night

Mindless ecstasy,
shimmering skin,
arms swaying
swelling hips,
pneumatic motion,
legs possessed,
the beat, within.
Encompassing-
then-

Silence.
Gray-
The notes,
have
fallen.
