Smoke

and mirrors
distort believer’s
eyes-
too blessed
to be stressed,

life is
fine, every
thing is O.K.

Honest answers
kiss lips-
leaving
vulnerability
behind-
pride swings
high, in
these lies,
denying truth
delays healing,
disrupts
fellowship
on rocky
roads, mourn
in valleys,
sing on ‘tops-
be heard,
be real,
be honest,
in this valley,
of the shadow
of
death.

Lost

Church bells
screaming, cursing
through the night,
people wailing,
Heaven is too far…

We want, the
blessings, the
love, the
new life; to be
like Jesus.
I am:
a new creation,
accepted,
blessed,
an over comer,
chosen,
called,
free,
His body.
I was, crucified-
with Christ.
I am, in
pain,
suffering torment,
and disgrace,
wanting only,
Your blessings.
Yet,
to be like You,
is to suffer-
daily, carrying
this cross-
denying the world.
Embracing Your love.
Speaking life,
fighting, the battle-
in the mind,
while, I am
carried though.
By the touch,
of Your
hand.
