Today I’m going to go over Psalm 133.
A song of ascents. Of David. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
Psalm 133:1 (NIV)
There are over 200 denominations of Christianity in the United States and 45,000 around the world. That’s a lot of people claiming to be the same when many of them might not be the same. In this verse, I see God’s people living together in unity as being one in Christ.
It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe.
Psalm 133:2 (NIV)
This oil is the anointing oil mentioned in Leviticus 8:12 and Exodus 30:25. When the oil was liberally poured on Aaron’s head, it ran down his beard, covering his garments, and even hitting his feet. As One in Christ Jesus, the anointing oil can cover every member of the body.
It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
Psalm 133:3 (NIV)
It’s refreshing, and the mountains’ dew brings fruit and crops from the fertile land below. Fruit and such are blessings and life from the Lord.
When we’re together in unity, there’s no strife, no quarrels, and we are of one mind in Christ. Here as One, the Lord bestows his blessings and eternal life.
That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by!
